Vol. 01 — The Brand Issue   Brand strategy, in plain English

Stop hiding behind the headline.

I'm Andrea Emerique, a brand strategist. I help brands with something real to say become the ones people remember and choose.

01 — The situation

Great product.
Quiet brand.

You've built something with real care: the materials, the details, the experience of the people who use it. That quality is valuable. It deserves to be felt in the way the brand shows up, speaks and relates to people.

A well-built brand foundation brings clarity to decisions, reduces the dependence on one-off actions, and helps a business become more consistent, and longer-lasting.

The goal is an identity that translates the value of what you make, and brings the brand closer to the right people.

02 — The method

Three phases.
One clear direction.

Each phase ends in a document your team can open on Monday morning and actually use.

Phase 01

Immersion & Diagnosis

Understand where the brand is, and where it wants to go.

Before deciding what to do, we need to understand what is happening: the brand's story, its products, its business goals and the challenges along the way, plus how it communicates and how people buy.

  • Business goals
  • Products & differentiators
  • Communication & sales channels
  • Opportunities & priorities
You receive Business & Brand Diagnosis

A clear read of where the brand stands today: a look at the sales funnel and the brand's current presence, naming the main challenges, opportunities and priorities.

Phase 02

Identity & Positioning

Give shape to what makes the brand one of a kind.

With a clearer picture of the business, we build the foundations: who the brand is, who it wants to connect with, and how it wants to be perceived. Everything that comes later, from words and images to campaigns, starts here.

  • Market & references
  • Ideal audience
  • Essence, values, differentials
  • Positioning & narrative
  • Voice & aesthetic direction
You receive Brand Guide

The ideal customer, the place the brand wants to occupy, the ideas that hold it together, language and tone, and the atmosphere of the visual world, photography included.

Visual identity is designed by a trusted partner designer, under my direction, so it stays true to the strategy.

Phase 03

Activation & Go-to-Market

Take the identity out into the world.

A brand is built in the small moments of contact with its audience. Here we look at where those moments happen, what role each one plays, and how to make them all say the same thing.

  • Customer journey
  • Channel roles
  • Content themes & formats
  • Partnerships & creators
  • Action plan
You receive Application Guide & Action Plan

A guide that carries the brand to the places where it meets its people, with a plan for what to adjust first, what can wait, and where to begin.

04 — The way we work

Twelve weeks, six conversations.

  1. Step 1

    Kick-off

Right after we agree to work together, I send a few questions to get to know the brand's moment. A warm-up for our first conversation, already with the challenges and goals in mind.

  2. Step 2

    Immersion & development

From our conversations, I dive into the brand to research, connect ideas and develop the materials for each phase.

  3. Step 3

    Presentations & exchanges

We meet to look at what's been developed, trade impressions and adjust before moving on: six meetings, with one round of adjustments per phase.

  4. Step 4

    Final delivery

At the end of the twelve weeks you receive the three documents built along the way, organised to guide your next decisions and help the team put everything into practice.

Reading between the lines.

05 — About

I work one brand
at a time.

I'm Andrea Emerique, a brand strategist. My work starts with listening, to the business, the product and the people who buy it, and ends with documents a team can pick up and use.

  • Understand before making. Nothing is designed, written or posted until we know what's actually going on.
  • Clarity over volume. A brand that knows what it is needs far fewer things to say.
  • Built to last, not to trend. Strong foundations make every later decision easier.
